Students start in home team

Talking Chips:
Students work in a group
Each has set number of bingo chips
When a student shares they throw in a chip
Once chips are gone, may not add any more comments until everyone in the group has used their chips
Shoulder Partner:
While having a group discussion, occasionally have participants turn to their “shoulder partner,” the person sitting next to them and share a thought or idea
Round Table:
Students work in groups
One sheet of paper
Paper passed around to record ideas
Each student uses different color marker
Stay and Stray:
Students work in groups
Create product to demonstrate learning
One stays to teach their product

Planning Cooperative Groups
- Forming Cooperative Learning Groups Use Round Table to have each participant note a though or idea from the reading
- Cooperative Grouping Cards:
- 6 groups of 4 students and varying levels of academics in each group
- 4 gropus
6 students with each group having a leader to help with limited resources
- Groups of 3 picking on of each role Researcher, Photographer, Presenter
- 3 sets of trade books with 8 copies of each. One set is above level, one grade level and one below grade level. Class needs homogeneous reading groups
