Consolidated List of Cooperative Strategies
Share Around:
One student shares an idea
The person on the left shares an idea
Ideas are recorded on one paper
Students take turns sharing ideas until everyone has had a turn or out of ideas

Think, Pair, Share:
Students are given time to learn or think about new info
Students get with a partner and discuss or share what they have learned

Jigsaw:
Students start in home team
Divide out to expert teams to learn new material
Return to home teams
Teach new material

Talking Chips:
Students work in a group
Each has set number of bingo chips
When a student shares they throw in a chip
Once chips are gone, may not add any more comments until everyone in the group has used their chips


Shoulder Partner:
While having a group discussion, occasionally have participants turn to their “shoulder partner,” the person sitting next to them and share a thought or idea

Round Table:
Students work in groups
One sheet of paper
Paper passed around to record ideas
Each student uses different color marker

Stay and Stray:
Students work in groups
Create product to demonstrate learning
One stays to teach their product
One strays to learn from others
Everyone takes turns
Groups come back and share new knowledge
