- Groups of 3
- One article each:
- Reflect one important concept from article and why important
- Share and sticky note reactions
- Sort reactions as group then share with other groups
- Questions:
- How might the author's perspective in this article change or not change personal classroom-management decisions?
- Is there validity in the author's perspective?
- Does having technology in the classroom create any dynamics that need special consideration? Why or why not?
Classroom-Management Strategies (45 min)
- 5 Management sheets on wall:
- Behavior Management
- Instructional Management
- Time Management
- Resources and Materials Management
- Equipment Management
- Sticky problems in each area that can arise
- Groups of 2 organize each sheet into problems students can and can not be involved in fixing
- Share work and record ideas on Classroom-Management Handout
- Questions:
- How might some of the ideas developed during this activity affect classroom community?
- What criteria determines when students can be involved in resolving management problems?

- Calendar setup of training sessions and places
Internet Safety (45 min)
Situation Cards (30 min *)
- In small groups choose a situation card and develop a plan of action for that teacher. Groups share situations and plans with discussion.
- Reflection questions:
- How do these situations compare to personal classroom experiences?
- Would managements plans developed for the situations transfer to classroom practice?
